To us, being a Local is a way of life.
It's choosing to participate rather than simply pass through. It's supporting the independent businesses, creative people, neighborhood spaces, and small discoveries that give a place its character.
It's knowing that community doesn't have to be complicated. Sometimes it starts with becoming a regular somewhere, saying hello, showing up, or inviting someone along.
You don't have to be born somewhere to belong there.

A note from Valerie
I started Locals World because I've always been drawn to the people and places that give a community its personality.
Growing up in New York and spending time in Miami, I've found myself collecting experiences everywhere I've gone: the cafés, the markets, the independent designers, the women building something of their own, the conversations, and the little moments that make a place feel like yours.
Over the years, that curiosity turned into gatherings, clothing swaps, creative collaborations, founder stories, and opportunities to bring people together.
I began to see that what I was really interested in wasn't just discovering places. It was creating connections between people and the places they could become part of.
Locals World is my way of continuing that work.
A publication, a community, and a growing collection of people and places worth knowing.

Do I need to live in a particular city to join?

You'll receive access to the private member area, where you can explore your workbooks to become a local and create your own locals closet, begin creating your Local Guide, and submit your member introduction.
What happens after I join?

You'll be invited to submit information about yourself, your interests, your favorite places, and what you're working on. With your permission, your approved profile can be included in the Locals World member directory. Expanded editorial interviews and features are selected separately.
