My Journey
Hi! I’m Valerie Jana, Founder and Visionary of Locals World.
This began not as a brand, but as a practice — a way of moving through the world with intention and attention. Growing up outside New York City, I learned early that belonging comes from presence: in markets where makers laugh, cafés where hands touch warming mugs, and boutiques where each piece carries a story.
Locals World started with clothing swaps and curiosity — wondering what happened if travel was not about landmarks, but about people, craft, and intuition. From closet swaps to city guides, editorial stories to community gatherings, every thread of this project has been woven with connection, craft, and a desire for beauty with purpose.
