Why We’re Here
Locals World was created from a simple observation: many of us spend our lives looking outside ourselves for answers.
We're surrounded by endless information, endless inspiration, and endless opinions about who we should be, what we should wear, where we should go, and what success should look like. Somewhere in all that noise, it becomes easy to lose touch with our own voice.
For me, the journey back began through the things that grounded me. The neighborhood café I returned to again and again. The Saturday market. The small businesses I loved supporting. The clothes that felt most like me. The conversations, rituals, and places that reminded me of what I valued and who I wanted to become.
Over time, I realized these weren't just preferences. They were anchors.
They helped me understand my identity, my values, my community, and the story I was telling through the way I lived.
Locals World was created to help others discover those same anchors for themselves.
Through storytelling, style, local discovery, and community, we encourage people to define their own world—to understand what they love, what they stand for, what they want to support, and how they want to show up in their everyday lives. My story
Hi, I'm Valerie, founder of Locals World.
Locals World began not as a brand, but as a practice. A way of moving through the world with greater intention, curiosity, and connection.
Growing up outside New York City, I was always drawn to the places that felt alive: farmers markets, independent boutiques, neighborhood cafés, and the people behind them. I became fascinated by the stories woven into everyday life; the maker behind a garment, the owner behind a small business, the communities that give a place its character.
What started as clothing swaps, local discoveries, and a love of storytelling eventually became a bigger question:
What does it mean to truly belong?
Locals World is my ongoing exploration of that question. Through style, storytelling, community gatherings, and local discovery, I hope to inspire others to reconnect with themselves, support the places they call home, and create lives rooted in belonging.

The Symbol
The Locals World symbol represents the relationship between self, style, and place.
The flower at the center represents the individual. It is a reminder that everything begins within. Our well-being, creativity, personal growth, and self-expression shape how we move through the world. Like a flower unfolding, we are constantly becoming through the people we meet, the experiences we have, and the places we encounter along the way.
The archway represents style and identity. Inspired by a doorway and a clothing rack, it symbolizes the choices that shape how we show up in the world. It is a portal—an invitation to step into your power of infinite potential, embrace curiosity, and explore new perspectives. What we wear is often more than clothing; it is an expression of who we are and who we are becoming.
The circle represents our world. It reflects community, connection, travel, and the stories that shape our lives, whether they unfold in our own backyard or on the other side of the globe. It is a reminder that belonging is not tied to a single place, but to the relationships and experiences that make us feel at home.
