Nice Is Nice β and So Is Neice: A Delta-Fueled Family Adventure to France π«π·β¨
Thereβs something poetic about a city that shares a name with a feeling. Nice is, quite literally, nice β in every sense of the word. Nestled on the sparkling French Riviera, this sun-soaked coastal gem blends the warmth of Mediterranean charm with the elegance of old-world Europe. But this story isnβt just about a city. Itβs about a feeling, a family, and a possible future chapter β with Delta (hi, Delta π) leading the way.
βοΈ Why Nice Isβ¦ Well, Nice
Picture this: crystal-clear turquoise waters, pastel-colored buildings, fresh-baked croissants wafting through narrow cobblestone streets, and the kind of effortless chic only the French seem to master. Whether youβre strolling the Promenade des Anglais or sipping rosΓ© at a seaside cafΓ©, Nice invites you to slow down, soften, and savor.
Nice is a portal. Itβs the kind of place that whispers, βyou belong here,β especially for those of us who feel most alive when surrounded by beauty, culture, and a bit of magic.
π From Miami Beach to the Mediterranean
Recently, my dad sold his house in Pound Ridge (congrats Papa!! π‘π₯), and heβs looking ahead β to France. Possibly Nice. Possibly somewhere just as dreamy. At first, it felt like a whimsical idea, but now the possibility feels real. Tangible. Almost like a new family storyline is unfolding β one that might have me visiting France more often than I visit Trader Joeβs.
Maybe itβs time for me to wander a little farther, to meet the muse of the Riviera, and to find a new rhythm in France. I've always lived with one foot in the world of ritual and the other in real life, and perhaps this is where they converge.
βοΈ Delta: Making Long-Distance Feel Doable
Letβs be real β the dream only works if the travel feels smooth. Thatβs where Delta comes in. With direct and connecting flights to France (Nice included), Delta makes crossing the Atlantic feel totally doable β even for a spontaneous dad-daughter visit or a few weeks of working remotely in a French flat with good light and lavender soap.
Iβve flown Delta for years and always feel that rare blend of comfort and consistency. Their in-flight wellness touches, international routes, and SkyMiles perks? TrΓ¨s chic.
Alsoβ¦ shout out to Delta if you want to sponsor our trips πβοΈπ
Itβs giving long-distance relationship, but make it familial.
π Next Stop: Neice in Nice?
So yes, my partner made me write this. But maybe thatβs love, too: someone nudging you to tell your story, to document the little transitions that quietly become big turning points. Whether itβs a family visit, a creative escape, or a new ritual, this moment feels like a beginning.
Nice is more than just nice. Itβs an invitation. A feeling. And maybe, just maybe, itβs where this neice finds her next adventure.
And before France, thereβs New York β Iβm visiting my niece this June, a brand-new addition to our family, and the tiniest reminder of how important staying connected really is. Sheβs in the Wilton/Westport CT area, and I already know Iβll want to visit often. I hope that even if I do end up living abroad, I can still stay close to family β as we all grow up in our own ways, including me.
