Sleeping in a Treehouse at La Finca Victoria: A Soulful Ayurvedic Retreat in Vieques

Tucked into the lush hills of Vieques, Puerto Rico, La Finca Victoria is more than a hotel — it’s a portal. A place where every detail feels intentional, where healing and design co-exist in perfect harmony, and where time moves a little slower… on purpose.

We stayed in Baez, a tiny treehouse perched above the forest floor, surrounded by tropical stillness and the soft sounds of nature. With an open-air lobby styled like a dream — think vintage chairs, natural textures, and perfectly worn books — the space instantly welcomed us into another world. Every corner was curated but never fussy. Just easeful, sacred, and beautifully lived-in.

The magic was in the details:

  • Oracle cards laid out for intention-setting.

  • A boutique honesty shop where you simply write your name on a card for anything you take (and it's charged to your room).

  • A 24-hour pool that reflects the moonlight as easily as the midday sun.

  • Outdoor showers, making every rinse-off feel like a ritual.

Mornings started with 8 AM yoga led by Katiya, a graceful guide standing in while the owners were away. She brought a grounded warmth to our practice, joined by the property’s dogs, who wandered the land like little guardians. Her day job? Running Spiga, a homemade pasta restaurant in Old San Juan that's been open for seven years — a reminder that creativity often flows across disciplines.

Post-yoga, the complimentary breakfast was a revelation: fresh fruit, thoughtful plant-based bites, house-made floral teas offered all day, and coffee infused with cardamom and cinnamon. For those craving a little indulgence, the wine fridge was stocked with bottles available to take back to your room — no questions asked.

Around every corner of La Finca, medicinal plants thrived: bobinsana, known for its heart-opening properties (and one of Anima Mundi’s signature herbs), grew up the walls of the yoga studio. It was clear that this place wasn't just about aesthetics. It was about healing, about honoring nature, and about living with intention.

We explored the island by day and returned to our treehouse haven by night, falling asleep to jungle sounds and waking with the sun. It felt like a dream — and somehow, like coming home.

Sylvia, the founder of La Finca Victoria, has created something sacred here. A space that’s equal parts high-design and high-vibration. Whether you're planning a full reset retreat or just want to touch base with your soul while sleeping in the trees, this is the place.

La Finca Victoria, I’ll be back — next time, for a deeper stay.
