Locals Closet Winter Pop-Up Recap at The Huntress

This past snowy weekend, we hosted an intimate, magical pop-up at The Huntress, and it was everything we dreamed of and more! About 12 guests braved the winter weather to explore, try on, and play dress-up with our curated collection of emerging designers and artisanal pieces — and the energy in the store was electric.

One of the showstoppers? A stunning dress provided by Flora Vintage previously worn by Julianne Moore at the Met Gala — guests got to see it up close and even try it on! (See the look here: Julianne Moore’s Met Gala dress). Along with Coldsnow Collection, featured at Art Basel the week prior, Draft Studios. Designers loved seeing their pieces come alive as people interacted with them, tried them on, and experienced their story in a real, tangible way.

Balancing a clothing swap with a shopping experience was a learning moment — seeing guests try on, discover, and connect with pieces made the day playful, personal, and unforgettable. It’s the kind of immersive, curated experience that blends fashion, storytelling, and community.

And here’s the proof:

  • We brought 14 engaged guests in December, a notoriously tricky month

  • We converted that turnout into real sales

  • We proved people will pay to attend our events

  • We showed that designers will successfully sell in our container

That is not just an event — that is proof of function. Designers, retailers, and hospitality partners, this is exactly what we can bring to your space: energy, engagement, and measurable results. Guests, it’s exactly the kind of playful, transformative experience you’ve been waiting for.

Everyone had an incredible time. The snow didn’t stop the magic, and guests left inspired, smiling, and already asking, “When’s the next one?” We’re taking everything we learned to plan the next pop-up — bigger, bolder, and even more immersive.

Why attend a Locals Closet experience?

  • Discover emerging designers and artisanal pieces you won’t find anywhere else

  • Try on, play dress-up, and explore your own style through curated collections

  • Connect with creators, storytellers, and fellow style lovers

  • Experience fashion as a narrative — a way to explore a city, a community, and yourself

Whether you’re a designer, a boutique, a hotel looking to host an event, or a guest wanting a unique day out — Locals Closet events are for you. We’re not just selling clothing; we’re creating moments, connections, and stories that last.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at The Huntress. We can’t wait to see you at the next one!

A love note to our guests:

Hello everyone—Valerie here from Locals Closet
I am so enamored with the positive response from our cozy, snowy Sunday together at Locals Closet’s first event. Thank you to each and every one of you who came out and joined the fun.
My philosophy goes beyond the sustainability behind swapping and the presentation of small designers—it’s about believing that work should feel like play. It was such an honor to host this event with The Huntress, and especially with Sophie, who truly went above and beyond to ensure the event was everything it set out to be.
At Locals Closet, we invite you to shop locally, wear artisanal pieces, and always ask how things are made—introducing independent designers into new markets through community-driven experiences.
A heartfelt thank you to our sponsors: Tonic CBD (discount code: localsworld20), Espalier, Hitah Homegoods (code: localsworld), Haute Energy, Majestic Hudson, Element 50, and last but not least, My Neighbor’s.
As a special thank-you, anyone who returns to The Huntress and shops designers from the pop-up—including Flora Vintage party dresses, Draft Studio, and Coldsnow Collection—will receive a My Neighbor’s gift (limited quantity).
As we continue building momentum, we’d love for you to visit our website and leave us a love note. Tell us what you thought about the event, share photos of your Swap + Shop finds—at home or styled out in the world—and let us see how you made them your own.
